Configure your Gradle file

In your top-level build.gradle file, make sure that Maven Central is added as a repository:

repositories {
    mavenCentral()
}

In your app/build.gradle file, make sure that you're targeting Java 1.8 (8) compatibility:

android {
    compileOptions {
        sourceCompatibility JavaVersion.VERSION_1_8
        targetCompatibility JavaVersion.VERSION_1_8
    }
}

Then, add sentry-android into your dependencies:

dependencies {
    implementation 'io.sentry:sentry-android:4.2.0'
}

For other dependency managers, see the central Maven repository.

Configure your Android manifest

Add this <meta-data> tag inside the <application> element of your AndroidManifest.xml file:

  <meta-data android:name="io.sentry.dsn" android:value="YOUR-GLITCHTIP-DSN-HERE" />
</application>

Send us an error!

Open up MainActivity.java, and throw an exception:
